The Coldest Night of the Year is a winterrific family-friendly fundraising walk in support of local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness... because it’s cold out there. Join us on February 28, 2026 - across the country, close to home!
Walk with us!
For over 30 years, The Lighthouse has served people experiencing homelessness in Orillia. With 50 emergency shelter beds available for both men and women, another 8 shelter beds dedicated to youth, and an additional 20 supportive housing units, we offer a comprehensive range of housing services to individuals seeking support.
In addition to our shelter services, The Lighthouse operates an outreach program and warming center, offering essential support to vulnerable community members. Our partnerships and collaborations with social service agencies in Simcoe County allow us to work together to meet the unique needs of each individual we serve.
Our vision is to create a thriving community where everyone has hope, home, and a future. Beyond providing shelter and supportive housing, we are dedicated to addressing food security, assisting individuals in reaching their housing goals, and offering medical and mental health support. Additionally, we are committed to encouraging physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being in our community.
Join us on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 to walk and fundraise with us in the Coldest Night of the Year and together we can make a meaningful impact on the lives of those most vulnerable right here in our community.
We are once again using the parking lot behind e Capital. Our start and finish will be there as well as a party to celebrate your walk afterwards. Plan to stick around.
