Many people think that homeless youth choose to leave home, but nobody makes the choice to become homeless. More often than not, these young people have been living in chaotic environments. They may be forced to flee from an abusive family member, or been pushed out by mentally unstable parents. Once on their own, they quickly discover that it’s more difficult than they thought it would be. Your support can change their lives.
Established in 1971, Kennedy House Youth Services has a forty year history of providing therapeutic residential care to troubled youth in the Greater Toronto Area. Since our inception, we have worked with 10,000 different youth through our various programs.
The Kennedy House Youth Shelter, located in Toronto provides a safe and healthy living environment for youth ages 16-24 who have complex needs and are homeless. There are unique challenges associated with being a homeless youth. Young people living on the street have a higher chance of being taken advantage of or led astray by adults or their peers. Your support will give homeless youth the chance to try different options for achieving success in a safe and healthy environment. They need a great deal of support to figure a way out of their current situations.
You can support our initiatives and change lives by becoming a Kennedy House Youth Shelter supporter. Your support ensures you continue to have excellent visibility in your community, and sets you apart as a community leader dedicated to helping homeless youth in Toronto.
